14. Symbolical Meanings of Representative Basic Numbers (Page 120)

Here, we look at the essential meanings of the numbers 7 and 12. 7 is 3+4 in which 3 symbolize the Trinity God and 4 symbolizes the four directions of north, south, east and west. Thus, 7 represents the God-centered beginning in which the kingdom of our Lord and Christ, centered around the Trinity God, and the gospel start to be spread to all places with the believers coming from everywhere and the power of the seven Spirits, which is the nickname of the Holy Spirit in the end times.

Also, 12 is 3X4 and has a meaning of fulfillment in which the work of the Trinity God fills all of the earth (Isa 49:16-21). Knowing how the meanings of the numbers 7 and 12 unfold in Revelation may be the shortcut in understanding Revelation. In the earlier part of Revelation, the number 7 appears primarily while starting from Chapter 12 Verse 1, which talks about the crowns of the twelve stars, the number 12 mainly, appears in the book excluding Chapter 21 Verse 9 where it talks about “the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues.”

This symbolically shows, through the journey of Revelation, the Trinity God-centered beginning in which the seven Spirits work (Rev 1:20) as well as the fulfillment of God’s plan founded upon the 12 disciples (Rev 21:14).

Therefore, starting from the crowns of the 12 stars in Revelation 12:1, there appears several instances of the number 12 such as 12 gates, 12 angels, 12 foundations, 12 names, 12 pearls, 12 strings and 12 jewels. Accurately understanding the meaning of 12 as well as the multiples of 12 including 144(12X12), 12000(12X1000) and 144000(144X1000) is the core of grasping Chapters 21 and 22, which are the concluding portion of Revelation.

7 Stars → The crown of 12 stars →144 people                                (a wall of the Holy City) will be formed from 12 (12X12 = 144)                   as a duodecimal foundation.

“Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become  a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”                                                                         (Isa 60:21-22)

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;                                                                                                     12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:                                                                13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates  14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.                                                                                                        15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.                                                                                                    16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.                                  17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

(Isa 26:1-2)                                                                                               1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.                                                         2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

(Isa 60:18)                                                                                              18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

(Mic 7:11)                                                                                              11 In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.

(1 Ch 4:9-10)                                                                                9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.                                                                  10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
