(Rev 1:12-16)
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
The above is organized in a table as follows.
Appearance | Expressions | Symbols |
1:12
The Entire body |
And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone “like a son of man” | It explains the appearance of a believer that changes oneself who, as all seven golden lampstands are lighted by the identical olive oil, works with the eternal gospel, which is the identical revelation of Jesus, |
1:13 Robe | Dressed in a robe reaching down to His feet and | Wears the whole spiritual linen of good deeds that does not show the nakedness from head to toe, |
1:13 Chest | With a golden sash around His chest. | Takes to heart the words of pure truth that has been refined like pure gold without any dross, |
1:14 Head | His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and | Possesses head and hair as soft and gentle as white wool and thoughts as pure as snow, |
1:14 Eyes | His eyes were like blazing fire. | And eyes with passion that burns like fire, |
1:15 Feet | His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and | And feet emanating strong energy heated by patience and refinement everywhere he or she goes, |
1:15 Voice | His voice was like the sound of rushing waters. | And voice providing the coolness of a waterfall, which quenches the hunger and thirst, |
1:16 Right hand | In His right hand He held seven stars, and | And the authority of Jesus’ right hand that, along with the seven Spirits of God, works to bring many people back to the right place, |
1:16 Mouth | Out of His mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. | And the lips equipped with the sword of His sharp words that discern both left and right, |
1:16 Face | His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. | And the face of a strong, bright brilliance as he or she wears the sun that kills darkness. |
(Ro 8:28-30) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Even for us who strive to be like Jesus, the good deeds in the end times is obeying the words of revelation of Jesus (Rev 1:3) with faith by seeking the never-changing eternal gospel (Rev 14:6) and not clinging to legalism in which people want to reach salvation through laws.
It is a process of becoming the proclamatory of gospel who washes and wears the linen of salvation (Rev 19:7-8/Rev 22:14), who are equipped with the words of truth refined like pure gold, and witnesses salvation with unbiasedness and faithfulness. (Eph 6:13-17 / Isa 11:5)
Following the heart of Jesus who humbled himself in the appearance of a man (Php 2:5), we must not be obsessed over our own benefits but pursue the benefits of others together. When we make sacrifices and focus all of our work from self-centeredness to pleasing God through which we please many more people, we then can finally become good volunteers and committed workers spreading the gospel.
The essence of gospel is the change from a self-centered, arrogant human being to a brother or a sister who acts according to God’s purpose and loves one another. (Mk 3:31-35/Ro 8:28-30)
(1 Co 10:24-33)
24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.
25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
26 For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.
27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof:
29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man’s conscience?
30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved
(1 Pe 5:2-4)
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
(Isa 61:6-9)
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore, in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
(Da 12:9-10)
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
(Ecc 8:1)
1 Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
In summary, it is the appearance of wearing a white robe from head to toe, emanating
the strongly refined light with the words of truth, pure softness and burning passion,
being equipped with the balanced sword of the words with the seven Spirits of authority that quenches our spiritual thirst, and wearing the armor of light that kills the power of darkness. The armor of light here is the seven full armors of God as follows.
The full armor of God
(Eph 6:10-13)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
“Stand firm then,
1) with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
2) with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and
3) with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
4) In addition to all this, take up e shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
5) Take the helmet of salvation and
6) the sword of the Holy Spirit, which is the word of God.
7) And pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
with these in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,”
(2 Co 4:3-6)
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
(Mt 5:16)
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven
(Da 7:9-10)
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
To easily understand our appearances, as those who have already been known by God, as those who work together and achieve goodness with all those that love God and are called by God according to His purpose, wear the full armor of God and transform ourselves into people partaking in the nature of God in order to participate in the resurrection and eternal life, it can be organized into a single poem as follows. (Jn 6:38-40 / 2 Pe 1:3-7)
From head
To toe
Wears the full linen
That shows
No nakedness
Around the chest
Wears
The belt of truth
Pure as pure gold
Without any dross
Head and hair
Soft as
White wool and
Thoughts
As pure as snow
Eyes
With passion
Like
Burning fire
Emanates
The strong energy of life
Refined by heat
Everywhere
He or she goes
Voice
That gives the coolness
Of a waterfall
Quenching the thirst
Everywhere it reaches
With the authority
Of the right hand
Of God,
Being re-born
As the counted stars
To which the seven Spirits work
The lips
Equipped with
The sword of sharp words
Discerning
Both left and right
With a balance
Stand up
And scintillate
Wear the bright sun
That kills darkness
With the face of brilliance
Of a wise person
And with a changed appearance
